Flange Detection and Spool TDS 3D

The 3D spool scanner is an advanced sensor solution for modern winding technology. It enables real-time measurement of spool and coil geometry as well as automated flange detection during the winding process.

This sensor is compatible with all electronic winding machines and is particularly well-suited for use with ED, MW and SW class winders.

It offers automatic detection of coil flanges on both cylindrical and conical coils, ensuring accurate and continuous identification of reversal points based on the current winding position.

Thanks to its intelligent sensing capabilities, the system reliably measures coils and materials regardless of their shape, color, surface finish or material composition.

The sensor performs precise distance measurements and detects flange and reversal points, supporting fully automated, layer-optimized winding, even for matte or highly reflective materials.

For even higher performance, the 3D spool scanner can be seamlessly integrated with the MCU winding controller, enabling ultra-precise or layer-controlled winding processes.

Position Sensor MPS

The MPS position sensor precisely determines the location of various winding materials, including wire, flat wire, optical fiber, fiberglass and ultra-fine wire.

It measures the material’s position orthogonal to the winding direction, making it ideal for achieving consistent, straight-line unwinding. For more complex applications, such as soldering wires or high-precision winding processes, the MPS position sensor can be combined with the TDS 3D spool scanner to enable layer-optimized spooling.

Designed for maximum sensitivity, the sensor reliably detects materials as fine as 7 µm in diameter, including the thinnest wires and fibers.

To ensure seamless integration into automated systems, the scanner can also be paired with the MCU winding controller for precise unwinding and advanced layer control.
